What the snow screensaver is
Depth is what separates snow from noise. Flakes near the camera are bigger, brighter and fall faster; distant ones are small, dim and slow. Give them all the same speed and the effect immediately reads as static falling down a screen.
Each flake also sways on its own phase, so the field never develops the visible rhythm that gives away a simple loop.

Falling snow on a full screen, no download
Density and speed are separate controls, which matters: heavy slow snow and light fast snow are completely different moods, and most versions of this only let you change one.
The sky is a gradient rather than flat black, which gives the flakes something to sit against at the top of the frame.
How to run the snow screensaver full screen
Press the fullscreen button on the player, or the F key. Escape brings you back to the page. On a desktop browser F11 does the same job and hides the browser’s own toolbars as well, which is what you want on a display that is going to be left running.
Everything you change in the settings is written into the address bar as you change it, so the version you have set up is a link. Bookmark it, or send it to whoever is running the screen. Space pauses and resumes at any time.
