What the flip clock screensaver is
Split-flap displays were mechanical: each digit was a stack of hinged cards that dropped one at a time. This is the same motion done with a real 3D transform, so the top half of the card rotates down over the bottom half rather than fading between numbers.
The clock reads your device’s own time. Nothing is fetched from a server, which means it keeps working with no connection and it never disagrees with the clock in your menu bar.

Flip clock online: a full screen clock with no install
Open the page, press F, and the clock fills the display. On a phone, add the page to your home screen and it opens straight into the clock.
Turning seconds off leaves just hours and minutes, which makes each digit much larger and is the better choice for a clock you glance at from across a room. Both settings live in the URL, so the version you like is a bookmark.
How to run the flip clock screensaver full screen
Press the fullscreen button on the player, or the F key. Escape brings you back to the page. On a desktop browser F11 does the same job and hides the browser’s own toolbars as well, which is what you want on a display that is going to be left running.
Everything you change in the settings is written into the address bar as you change it, so the version you have set up is a link. Bookmark it, or send it to whoever is running the screen. Space pauses and resumes at any time.
