Using the site
Every screen on Browser Screensaver is free to use, for personal and for commercial purposes, with no account, no licence fee and no attribution required. Put a screensaver on a shop display, run a countdown at a conference, use a colour screen to light a video shoot — none of that needs permission.
What you may not do is scrape or mirror the site wholesale, republish its pages as your own, or run automated traffic against it. The code and text are ours; the output of the tools is yours.
Pranks and fake screens
The fake update screens, fake crash screens, fake calls and prank pages exist to be funny among people who will find them funny. They are parodies, they are obviously web pages the moment anyone presses Escape, and they are not to be used to defraud, threaten, harass or seriously deceive anyone.
Specifically: do not use them to fake a work outage, to avoid an obligation, to support a false claim to an employer, insurer, examiner or authority, or in any context where someone would suffer a real loss by believing the screen. Doing so is a misuse of the site and entirely your own responsibility.
Trademarks and parody
Browser Screensaver is an independent site with no affiliation to, endorsement from or connection with Microsoft, Apple, Google, Zoom, Slack, Valve, Sony, Canonical or any other company. Product names, logos and interface designs referenced on the fake-screen pages remain the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify what is being parodied. If you own such a mark and object to its use on a specific page, write to hello@browserscreensaver.com and that page will be reviewed.
Photosensitivity warning
Some screens on this site flash, strobe or change colour rapidly, and several are designed to be viewed fullscreen. A small number of people can experience seizures when exposed to flashing lights or patterns, whether or not they have a history of epilepsy. If you feel dizzy, disoriented or unwell, stop immediately and press Escape to leave fullscreen. Screens with rapid motion carry a pause control, and most offer a speed setting that can be turned down.
Monitor tests are not diagnostics
The dead pixel, backlight bleed, uniformity, ghosting, gamma and calibration pages are visual aids, not measurement instruments. What you see depends on your panel, your browser, your operating system's colour management, the ambient light in the room and your own eyes. Do not rely on them alone for a warranty claim, a return, a purchase decision or a professional colour workflow.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. It may be offline, a screen may be broken in your browser, and a timer may drift if your device sleeps. Do not use a page here as the only thing standing between you and a consequence that matters — if a countdown ending late would be a problem, set a second alarm.
To the fullest extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for any loss or damage — including damage to a display, lost data, missed time or lost income — arising from the use of, or inability to use, this site.
Advertising and third parties
The site is funded by advertising. Adverts are supplied by third-party networks and are not endorsements — what they show is not chosen, checked or vouched for here. Links to other sites are provided for convenience and carry no responsibility for their content. How advertising handles data is covered in the privacy policy.
Changes and governing law
Screens may be added, changed or removed at any time, and these terms may be revised — the date at the top is the last revision. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the current version.
