Lime Screen

A bright yellow-green, close to fluorescent. This page fills the screen with #BFFF00 — rgb(191, 255, 0), hsl(75, 100%, 50%) — and nothing else.

Press F for fullscreen, Esc to exit.

What a lime screen is used for

  • High-visibility backgrounds and signage
  • Bright, cool-warm ambient light
  • Backgrounds where green is too flat and yellow too warm

Lime screen online: #BFFF00 at full screen

Lime here is #BFFF00 — green at maximum with red high and blue at zero, which lands it between yellow and green. It is one of the most attention-grabbing colours a display can show, which is why high-visibility clothing uses something very close to it.

Note that the CSS colour keyword `lime` is actually #00FF00, the same as pure green. This page uses the everyday sense of the word — the yellow-green of the fruit — rather than the CSS keyword. The green screen page covers #00FF00.

How to get a full screen lime background

Press the fullscreen button on the player above, or the F key. Escape returns you to the page. On a desktop browser F11 does the same job and hides the browser's own toolbars as well.

The colour box is a control, not a picture: use the hex field to enter any value, pick another shade from the palette, or download the current colour as a PNG at your screen's resolution. Whatever you set is written into the address bar, so the link you copy reproduces exactly what you are looking at.

Questions

Is lime the same as green in CSS?

Confusingly, the CSS keyword `lime` is #00FF00 — identical to pure green. This page uses the everyday meaning, a yellow-green at #BFFF00. For #00FF00 use the green screen page.

Is this lime screen free?

Yes — free, with no account, no download, no watermark and no limit on how long you leave it open. It is a web page, so it runs on anything with a modern browser.

How do I exit fullscreen?

Press Escape, or F again. If you used F11 to hide the browser toolbars, press F11 to bring them back.
